Ceilings, walls and floors are important structural, functional and cosmetic features in every home. Poorly built walls can hide structural problems; load-bearing walls that have been inappropriately removed can be a concern in time if not identified. Ceilings can contain old vermiculite insulation that may contain asbestos, hide old knob-and-tube wiring, unsafe electrical connections, etc. Floors can sag, slope, slant, and hide structural issues, and other surprises.
